Bringing Time to Life for SOS Children’s Village Nepal

Designing a Diary and Calendar Rooted in Care, Childhood, and Community

SOS Children’s Village Nepal has been a beacon of love, support, and stability for children in need for decades. When they approached Wildminds for the design of their 2025 diary and calendar, the brief was clear—create something functional, thoughtful, and full of heart.

We weren’t just designing stationery—we were creating daily companions that would sit on desks, in bags, and on walls throughout the year, reminding people of the impact of care, education, and community.

How can this feel
meaningful even in
the smallest moments?

Our creative direction was grounded in the emotional essence of SOS: nurturing, optimistic, and purpose-driven. The visuals were meant to resonate across generations—from caregivers and staff to young adults and visitors.

The Diary was designed to reflect monthly themes such as empathy, courage, and belonging. Each section opened with a warm visual, supported by reflective quotes and writing space.

The calendar was designed to be simple and functional, but not sterile. We paired clean layouts with culturally resonant visuals, encouraging daily engagement while subtly reinforcing SOS’s core message: every child deserves a loving home and future.

Visual Language

We carefully curated a design system that felt gentle yet grounded

Color Palette: A mix of soft pastels and warm neutrals to evoke comfort and clarity.

Typography: A humanist sans-serif for body text paired with expressive serif headlines, ensuring legibility with personality.

Illustrations: Subtle line-based drawings inspired by childhood moments, the Nepali landscape, and daily life inside SOS villages.

Paper & Texture: Recycled matte paper with a natural feel—supporting sustainability and tactility in every touch.
